Pocket-47 Flap Jacket Copy (Revision #2)
Rule #2 in private investigator Nicholas Colt’s Philosophy of Life: If you have a good Tuesday, Wednesday is likely to be a bitch.
Welcome to Wednesday.
Fifteen-year-old Brittney Ryan has taken to the streets. Colt is hired to find her and bring her home.
Piece of cake, he thinks. A surprise visit to the forbidden boyfriend should put this one in the scrapbook.
But something more sinister is behind Brittney’s disappearance, and Colt soon finds himself in an ever-widening maze of deceit, betrayal, and murder.
And, when he learns what the mysterious phrase Pocket-47 means, he is haunted even more by the plane crash that killed his family and rock band twenty years ago--a crash he now realizes might not have been an accident.
Colt is determined to save Brittney and untangle the threads of his own tortured past.
Unfortunately, one of the most heinous and violent criminals in modern history has other ideas.
Which might be okay, because…
Rule #1 in Nicholas Colt’s Philosophy of Life: Screw the rules. Let's jam.

Very nice.
I'd combine two paragraphs.
Though Colt is determined to save Brittney and untangle the threads of his own tortured past, one of the most heinous and violent criminals in modern history has other ideas.
Thanks, Joe. I like that change!
I think this one works pretty well about giving the reader Colt's attitude.
Thanks, Mark. Everyone's suggestions have been very helpful!
This one worked for me ... it was readable and much faster. I thought it ended well too. Good job.
Thanks, Jon! Your comment on the previous version was a tremendous help.
Bravo! I love this version.
Thanks! :)
Rule #1: Yesterday is done. Today you have to earn it.
Fifteen-year-old Brittney Ryan has taken to the streets. Private investigator Nicholas Colt is hired to bring her home.
A visit to the forbidden boyfriend should put princess in the scrapbook. Instead it drops Colt in a maze of deceit, betrayal, and murder.
To find the girl, Colt is forced to go back. To untangle his own past. The plane crash twenty years ago. That they said was an accident. That killed his wife and baby girl.
Something sinister connects Brittney’s disappearance and that haunting fiery wreck. Something related to Lucius Strychar. Television preacher. Militia leader. A lunatic with an army and a plan.
Something called Pocket-47.
Rule #2: There are no rules. There is only execution.
